The White Stallion
written by Wanda Hodge 11/6/97

A large white stallion in a barn, pacing to and fro,
looking around for some way out but past me he must go.

I didn't dare approach him, he would only back away or
turn and charge and paw the ground while keeping me at bay.

I couldn't seem to calm him down, his spirit wild and free
and every little move I made he would turn and threaten me.

I didn't want to hurt him and though I meant no harm,
he didn't seem to trust me all hemmed up in a barn.

As I stood there watching, the answer plain to see,
Open the door, walk away and set his spirit free.

Don't even try to stop him, let him walk on out the door,
if he decides to follow me then he's mine  once more.

Dedicated to my Sagittarius friend, William Paul White (Paul WhiteHorse)
